Nice review, sounds interesting. It's unfortunate that this intellectual movement, somewhere in between Sefardic rationalism and Ashkenazi fundamentalism (very roughly speaking, of course) didn't have more lasting intellectual influence
I would say it did, as all generations since had moderates, despite what it looks like from all the noise.
